Trading Policies & FAQs

  1. Do you buy books?

WE DO NOT BUY BOOKS! We are a trade-based bookstore and give 10-20% of the original sale price of books in store credit.

Store credit is kept in our computer database. Instead of paying cash for books, you can tell the front desk person you have credit and they will subtract from your account accordingly.

  2. How many books can I trade at once?

Trades are strictly limited to 2 standard size grocery bags or 2 small boxes. If you are looking to trade more, you must call ahead at 215-925-2080.

  3. When can I make a trade? We accept small trades every weekday during store hours. We do NOT accept trades on the weekends - no exceptions! We do not require an appointment for small trades, however, we may ask you to leave the books so that the owner may process them.

  4. What types of books do you accept?

We accept most books that are in good condition. However, we do not accept, ex-library books, books with severe markings/underlining/damage, textbooks, or certain books we just have too many copies of.

Books that we cannot take are donated.  If you would like the books we cannot take returned to you, we ask that you bring trades of less than one box or bag and stay for the duration so that we may return your books after processing them.

We also accept LP's, DVD's, and CD's! All discs must be in clean, stored in proper cases, and in good condition without scratches. At the moment, we prefer contemporary music (from within the past 50 years) and ask that you limit donations of classical music.
